Mr. Lesley Vance began his career in funeral service in 1958 with Britton & Dobbs Funeral Home.
In 1972 he acquired the funeral and became the owner of Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City, AL. Later, in 1984 he opened a new funeral home in Columbus, GA. Near the close of 1990, Mr. Vance completed the construction of a new chapel in Phenix City on highway 280 / 431.
The funeral home is still in that location today and is conveniently located near Lakeview Memory Gardens and Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. Most recently, in 2002, Mr. Vance opened a new facility on Macon Road in Columbus, GA. The new facility has a new name, Vance-Brooks Funeral Home.
It is located just across the road from Parkhill Cemetery and also services Ft. Benning Main Post Cemetery. Both Vance Memorial Chapel and Vance-Brooks Funeral Home are and will continue to be one of the few locally owned and operated funeral homes in this community.
If you’re like most people, you find it is nicer to work with a locally owned company. You like the flexibility and the personal service you get when you can talk directly with the owner. We feel the same way at Vance Memorial Chapel and Vance-Brooks Funeral Home.
