Alma Jeanette Coggins Touchton, 82, of Phenix City, AL was surrounded with family and friends during a short time in hospital at St Francis, Columbus, GA as she passed from this world into Eternity with Jesus, May 9, 2018.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held at Vance's Memorial Chapel, Phenix City, AL at 6:00 pm EDT, Wednesday, May 16, 2018 with Pastor Danny Ryals officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 5:30 pm EDT just prior to the memorial service. A private interment will be held by the family at a later date.

Net, as her family called her, was born January 25, 1936 in Clanton, AL to the late Milton Harvey Coggins and Alma Minnie Lou Upton Coggins.

Jeanette was retired with 30 years of dedicated service with AFLAC in Columbus GA. She loved gardening, beautiful landscapes and butterflies. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her girls and sons in law and especially her Grandkids and her sweet great Grandson. They were her sunshine and Nanny was amazing.

Jeanette was a member of St Mark FWB Church in Phenix City, AL, where, over the years, she served the Lord teaching Sunday school and singing in the choir.

Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her girls' Daddy, the man she loved, Clyde Ray Touchton, and her dear sister, Peggy Kincaid and brother in law John Kincaid.

She is survived by three daughters and their husbands, Karen Benham and Jim, Tracy Pattillo and Davey and Missy Upchurch and Wesley, four  grandkids Daniel Rushing and his sweet wife Holly, Kevin Benham, Jamie Benham and Caleb Pattillo and one great grandson Hunter Rushing. Jeanette also leaves behind 4 nephews, Casey, Eric, Tony and Peanut (Brian).  Ray and Brenda "her best friend" Touchton who lovingly shared in her care and her new, late in life friends and caregivers Cathy and Rodney Munson.

Jeanette had a strong Faith in God that carried her through this life into the next. She loved Jesus and was thankful in ALL things for His provision, care and love.  Jeanette will be truly missed by those who knew and loved her. Flowers are welcome or contributions may be made to St. Mark Freewill Baptist Church, St. Jude’s Children Hospital, or the Shriners Hospital for Children in memory of Mrs. Alma Touchton.
