Helen Thacker Crews-Edmunds, 73, of Phenix City, AL passed away late Sunday night, January 12, 2020 in the comfort of her home with her family by her side.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am EST on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City with Pastor Rock Edmunds officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm EST at the funeral home.
Helen was born December 21, 1946 in Pike County, KY, daughter of the late George Thacker and Marilyn Bartley Thacker. She worked for many years as a professional real estate agent in the Lee/Russell community before retiring. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, and sharing special moments and memories with all her family, especially her grandchildren. Her kind and gentle heart was evident to anyone who met her, as was her unwavering faith. She was a member of Oasis Christian Center.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Rick O. Edmunds, one son, Thomas Baker and wife Gina, one daughter, Marlain Peterson, two step-daughters, Kim Huckaby, and Heather Sobkowiak and husband Brent, two sisters, Wanda Cantrell and husband Roy, and Nancy Aslan, five brothers, Edmond Deel and wife Fairley, Paul Thacker and wife Rhonda, Walter Thacker, Jimmy Thacker and wife Debbie, and Donnie Thacker and wife Sherri, and (7) grandchildren, Cory Baker, Remi Baker, Owen Sobkowiak, Sarah Sobkowiak, Courtney Huckaby, Caleb Huckaby and Cailey Huckaby, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, church family, and numerous friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions to Oasis Christian Center in Phenix City or the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network in memory of Mrs. Helen Thacker Crews-Edmunds.
