Patricia “Pat” Wilson McKinney, 74, of Phenix City, AL passed away Monday afternoon, November 20, 2017 in the comfort of her home in Phenix City, AL.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am EST Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Rev. Keith Turner officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm EST at the funeral home.
Mrs. McKinney was born November 5, 1943 in Inglewood, CA to the late Millard H. Wilson, Sr. and Priscilla Ingram Wilson. She was retired from the Russell County Board of Education with 18 years of service. She loved helping young students, enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing, and a special hobby of decorating cakes for all sorts of special times. She enjoyed spending quality time with her family and all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a Methodist by faith. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Millard H. Wilson, Jr.
She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Richard A McKinney, Jr. of Phenix City, AL; one daughter, Paula Sheila Thompson and husband Duncan Thompson, Jr. of Hurtsboro, AL; son, Richard A McKinney, III and wife Brenda of Fortson, GA; (6) grandchildren, Sharon Sellars (Doug), Jennifer Phillips (Jeff), Cynthia Sellars, Tabitha Tanner (Brandon, Sr.), Kylee Thompson, and Duncan Thompson, III; (8) great grandchildren: Christian, Kobie, Nadia, Dillon, Catelyn, Caidence, Brandon, Jr., and Tyler.
